Additionally, all Explorer students in class now have the opportunity to travel to places around the globe using our new technology resource STRATALOGICA. Using a teacher grant, we were able to purchase a login for every Explorer student in which they can zoom in around the world on any location and interact with classmates in discussion upon world current events. All students received their login and password in class so they should be able to get into the program. When using it for the first time, you have to download a Google Map application and probably upgrade the Flash Player (all free). There is also an iPAD app for free that is called Stratalogica that students can use. This is a bonus program for us so students will never be required to use it. However, it is an outstanding resource to have and we will have availability to use it at school with the computers here in the near future. Many students were able to post their Current Events for homework last night and I encourage all students to login to post comments/questions regarding each other's current event write-ups.

Exploring Explorers
The entire Explorer Team placed pins on a U.S. map and a World map in regards to the places they have traveled to. Below are pictures of the completed maps. Overall, our Explorer students have been to 6 out of the 7 continents, 47 different countries, and all 50 states! As we learn about many of these places throughout the year, we encourage students to share their experiences and bring in any items to share. Learning about other cultures is important in a variety of ways and having first-hand information from students in class is an outstanding resource.
